27. Your favourite scene from a movie
This thing's real title would probably be "Nyt tulee pataan" because that's what I always think at this scene. (Approximate translation: your ass will be royally kicked.) Damn I love that moment. My favourite scene in the movie is actually this whole segment, all of the Hong Kong battle with Cherno, Typhoon, Striker, Otachi, Leatherback, and Gipsy. But this little bit, this is it.

Ah, hey, so, Pacific Rim. Hello Gipsy! I said I'm going to make a proper fanart piece one day. This still isn't it, but we're heading in the right direction. At least Gipsy Danger got pretty detailed this time. Many thanks to my figurine for graciously posing for this. The background is done with watercolour pencils, and the Jaeger with acrylics. I wanted to try a simple mess of a background, but also have a detailed Gipsy. It looks alright I guess. At least she does.

Note: I mostly concentrate my fandom of this movie on the badass bits of giant robots punching giant monsters, but I love the actual human story in there too. It's a good story.

I may have watched the movie, all the extras, and the movie again with del Toro's commentary while making this. And listened to the soundtrack until it was done. Yes, I'm slow. But it's also hard to paint when you're watching something you actually want to see.

You may or may not notice something weird on the left side. I tried to paint a bit of Otachi there, but it looked horrible, and eventually I ripped out the top layer of the paper to get rid of it. Kaijus are hard to paint. Related question: is there paint coloured and named Kaiju Blue? If yes, where can I get some, and if not, why not? I need it.

Once again; my overflowing gratitude and love to Guillermo del Toro, Travis Beacham, and everyone else involved in making this movie. My life wasn't whole before Pacific Rim.
